Campaigns Assistant for China

Position Objective:

To assist with PETA Asia’s campaigns, media, celebrity, activist, and special projects work throughout mainland China

Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China, or Manila

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Coordinate and help carry out a campaigns plan and an agenda of issues for China
  • Maintain a database of Chinese celebrities
  • Draft and mail letters to celebrities and others, as needed
  • Maintain a database of Chinese media
  • Review news releases from PETA Asia and its affiliates and make recommendations about their potential effectiveness in China
  • Develop ideas to increase celebrity involvement in animal issues
  • Make follow-up calls to the media and work to keep PETA Asia campaigns in the media spotlight
  • Coordinate the translation of materials, as needed
  • Coordinate the production of Chinese versions of PETA Asia and its affiliates’ ads
  • Assist with demonstrations, photo shoots, and other events, as needed
  • Direct media calls to the proper people
  • Travel for meetings, demonstrations, or other activities, as needed
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor


  • Valid, relevant work permit
  • Personable manner with exceptional communication skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin
  • Computer proficiency
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Patience and the ability to handle a wide array of administrative tasks efficiently
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed
  • Adherence to a vegetarian lifestyle
  • Support for PETA Asia’s philosophy
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
