Media Coordinator for China

Position Objective:

To coordinate PETA Asia’s media-based campaigns in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore

Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China, or Manila, Philippines

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Help develop marketing and media plans to reach specific audiences according to various celebrity campaigns, video launches, investigations, or other news releases
  • Service media releases and make follow-up calls
  • Prepare and manage news releases for celebrity ads and videos, investigations, and other campaigns
  • Develop media target lists for issue and campaign coverage
  • Help coordinate media efforts at the launch of celebrity campaigns or news conferences
  • Maintain and update a media database
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor


  • Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues
  • Knowledge of media outlets and how to effectively reach them
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Self-motivation and the proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed
  • Adherence to a vegetarian lifestyle
  • Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA’s philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA’s positions on issues
