Senior Accountant

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Distribute cash advances, reconcile petty cash, and scan receipts for daily submission
  • Perform a physical audit of cash on hand daily
  • Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations
  • Process travel reports and credit card reports of PETA representatives monthly
  • Compile, explain, and submit reconciliation reports of foreign currencies monthly
  • Prepare check requests for reimbursement, payment, and advances
  • Monitor and update expenses and reimbursements of PETA representatives and provide reconciliation on a monthly basis
  • Assist PETA Australia with performance of its accounts-payable functions when requested
  • Perform a quarterly audit of assets
  • Correspond and attend meetings with banks, auditors, consultants, and other vendors as needed
  • Organize and file all needed receipts and reports once approved
  • Keep general ledgers and financial reporting documents on hand for possible audits
  • Analyze, verify, and post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
  • Analyze, investigate, and correct accounting entries
  • Maintain a list of governmental registration renewals and fees and assist with procedures to ensure that payments and the relevant paperwork are submitted on time
  • Correspond and respond to questions from the organization’s foreign affiliates in a timely manner
  • Perform occasional outdoor errands, such as settling payments at banks
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor


  • Must be a resident of the Philippines
  • Must hold a degree in business or accounting or have at least five years of related experience
  • Proficiency in data entry and strong computer skills, especially in using Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal English skills
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Knowledge of Philippine business processes preferable
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to multitask, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Must be a team player
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
