A Shocking Look Inside Swedish Fur Farms

If you think cruelty is native to only a few countries, think again! Even Sweden, which is known for its compassion and high quality of life, has its dark secrets: Over the course of a year and a half, investigators from the Animal Rights Alliance toured 20 percent of the fur farms in Sweden and documented the routine cruelty that minks who are raised for fur endure.


 

Of course, most of the world’s fur still comes from China, whose laws allow farmers to house and slaughter animals however they see fit. (In other words, the animals live miserable lives and suffer excruciatingly painful deaths.)
