Activists Brave War-Torn Island to Help Wounded Animals

Over in South Korea, members of the Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth (CARE) group recently sent a rescue operation to Yeonpyoung Island in the aftermath of North Korea’s recent shelling of the place. What they uncovered was shocking:

Activists worked around the clock to save frightened animals.

Vulnerable animals, like this little guy, were left to fend for themselves.

CARE members reported that captive animals were suffering from malnutrition and neglect. Dozens of dogs and cats, many of whom were abandoned because of the impending emergency, were rescued. Thanks to the generosity of CARE’s members, almost all the animals found a new home!

It’s important that you make contingency plans for your animal companion in case of emergencies, as part of the commitment that we make as guardians!
