Kong Saharat Joins Call for Passage of Cruelty-to-Animals Law in Thailand

Posted on by Ashley Fruno

Nuvo lead singer and prolific actor Kong Saharat has joined Rook Kat star Siwat Chotchaicharin and Phra Jun Lai Payak star Jeeranun Manojam in signing a PETA petition. The petition calls on the National Assembly to pass the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Animal Welfare Bill immediately. If passed, the legislation would be the first of its kind in Thailand and would improve the lives of billions of animals.

Saharat is known for his roles in Prik Kee Noo Kab Moo Ham and Sapai Jao as well as more than three dozen other TV dramas. In addition to Chotchaicharin’s role in the top-rated Rook Kat, he starred in Benja Keeta Kwarmrak, and Jeeranun’s many credits include her award-winning role in Nang Tas. Other names on PETA’s petition include Danai Samutkojorn, Porntip Wongkijjanon, Kawintra Photijak, Kannaporn Puangthong, Karnklao Duaysianklao, and Su Boonliang.

PETA and Thai AGA recently delivered 250,000 additional signatures to the Parliament House from members of the public in support of the bill.

Please immediately ask President Chai Chidchob to push for the National Assembly to pass the first law against cruelty to animals in Thailand by adding your signature to the petition! Download a copy of the petition here. After signing it, please submit it to [email protected] or take action here. Thank you!
