Animal Assistance Special Projects Coordinator

Position Objective:

To coordinate the organization’s projects that aid companion animals, primarily cruelty case responses and spay/neuter initiatives, as well as fundraising, adoptions, and emergency responses

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Liaise with relevant government officials, corporations, property managers, and any others involved in cruelty cases
  • Work to secure rescues of animals involved in cruelty cases or to provide a solution that will prevent future harm to animals
  • Create and implement innovative ways to promote adoptions
  • Coordinate volunteers for PETA’s projects, as needed
  • Assist with disaster responses, spay/neuter event promotions and field clinics, and other field projects, as needed
  • Coordinate fundraising efforts for PETA’s animal assistance programs, including corresponding with companies interested in supporting PETA’s efforts, leading fundraising events, corresponding with donors, and keeping them updated on PETA’s work
  • Verify reports of animals in distress or danger by traveling to locations and coordinating responses, rescues, and/or medical care
  • Provide animals in the organization’s custody with care, including walking dogs, feeding animals, cleaning up after them, providing medication, and giving medicated baths
  • Conduct adoption follow-up visits as needed
  • Log photos and reports, including about expenses, and submit them in a timely manner
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor


  • Experience with handling animals
  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry at least 15 kilograms unaided (The role involves outdoor work in all weather conditions.)
  • Outgoing and personable manner with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of adoption, rescue, and spay/neuter procedures
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to multitask
  • Fluency in both English and Tagalog
  • Demonstrated ability to handle stress, including in crisis situations
  • Highly responsible, punctual, and reliable
  • Ability and willingness to follow instructions carefully
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion at all times
  • Ability and willingness to respond to emergencies outside office hours and on weekends as well as leading animal care and work at field clinics on weekends
  • Support for PETA’s philosophy
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle preferred
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
