PETA Statement re Fishing Net Entangling Koh Bulon Le’s Coral Reef

Please see a statement regarding the news that large fishing nets have been found on the coral reef at Koh Bulon Le.
PETA commends everyone who has taken action against deadly drift nets. For anyone who doesn’t know, these massive nets are nothing short of walls of death—indiscriminately trapping and killing everyone in their path, from dolphins and turtles to whales and countless fish. Many of these animals suffocate, starve, or slowly die from their injuries. Drift nets destroy ocean ecosystems, cause immense suffering, and should be banned everywhere, now. And let’s be clear: anyone who eats fish is supporting this cruelty.
