Caged PETA Supporters Put the Heat On iROO to End Shameful Fur Sales

What:             On Thursday, with temperatures predicted to soar to 37°C yet again, PETA supporters draped in real – donated by kind people who had a change of heart about wearing animals’ skins – will “trap” themselves inside hot metal cages outside the iROO Kuangfu store. With signs that proclaim, “iROO: Fur Kills” and “Summer is No Vacation for Animals on Fur Farms,” the animal advocates will urge the fashion brand to stop selling fur.

On fur farms, animals spend their entire lives inside cramped cages – where they frantically pace back and forth, gnaw on the bars, and mutilate themselves – before they’re electrocuted, bludgeoned, gassed, or even skinned alive. The fur industry also contributes to the climate catastrophe by polluting the soil, air, and water.

“Behind every on iROO’s racks was an animal who suffered the misery of a scorching summer or frigid winter on a squalid fur farm,” says PETA Senior Vice President Jason Baker. “PETA is calling on iROO to join the hundreds of forward-thinking brands that have gone fur-free and stick to offering the trendy vegan designs that today’s kind consumers want.”
