PETA Statement re Influencer Who Skinned, Cooked, and Ate a Dog
PETA President Jason Baker has issued the following statement in response to the arrest of Moroccan influencer Ayoub Ben Nesnes after he posted a video showing him skinning, cooking, and eating a dog in protest of high meat prices during Eid:
Skinning, dismembering, and eating a dog for ‘likes’ is unconscionable. Whether a dog, a sheep, a chicken, or a human, all animals are living, feeling beings who value their lives and don’t want to be killed for someone’s meal or viral moment, and PETA is sending this influencer a vegan cookbook so that he can inspire compassion instead of cruelty.
Every person who goes vegan saves the lives of nearly 200 animals each year and reduces their own risk of developing heart disease and cancer.
PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat or abuse in any other way” – points out that Every Animal Is Someone. For more information, please visit PETAAsia.com or follow PETA Asia on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
