PETA Offers Reward After 12 Dogs and Cats Die in Suspected Cavite Poisoning
Alfonso, Cavite — Poison scattered in a neighborhood can kill any animal who encounters it. Following reports that eight dogs and four cats died in a suspected deliberate poisoning in Barangay Kaytitinga Tres, PETA Asia is offering a reward of 20,000 PhP for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
Police are investigating after rice mixed with a blue substance was reportedly found in the area. Authorities suspect deliberate poisoning and are working to identify whoever may be responsible.
“Anyone who deliberately poisons dogs and cats poses a danger to every animal in the neighborhood, and leaving poison where animals can reach it can have deadly consequences,” says PETA Asia President Jason Baker. “PETA is urging anyone with information to speak up now, before another animal is harmed, so authorities can identify whoever did this and hold them accountable.”
Anyone with information relevant to the case please contact the Alfonso Municipal Police Station. The 20,000 PhP reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
