‘ANIMALS’ TO SPREAD MESSAGE OF LOVE FOR VALENTINE’S DAY

MEDIA ALERT – MEDIA ALERT – MEDIA ALERT

PETA Will Encourage Everyone to Have a Heart for All Living Beings

What:             As Valentine’s Day is approaching and love is on everyone’s minds, PETA “animals” will take to the streets in Makati on Monday to encourage everyone to show compassion to all living beings.

While dancing and giving hugs, a “cow,” “rat,” “elephant,” “dog,” and “seal” will hold signs in various languages—including English, Simplified Chinese, and Tagalog—that share ways to help animals, from going vegan to opposing cruel laboratory tests and having companion animals spayed and neutered. It’s all to support PETA’s motto: “Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way.”

“This Valentine’s Day, PETA encourages everyone to have a heart for animals,” says PETA Asia Vice President of International Campaigns Jason Baker. “By choosing plant-based meals and speaking out against industries that abuse animals, we can all show love for other living beings.”

Where:           Intersection of Ayala Avenue and Salcedo (outside The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf), Makati
(The animals will continue along Ayala Avenue to Makati Avenue.)

When:             Monday, February 13, 12 noon sharp
