Jollibee Singapore Wins PETA Award for Vegan Burger

Singapore – PETA is presenting Jollibee Singapore with a Vegan Great Taste Award for its Spicy Zero Beef Burger, which is 100% vegan. The game-changing burger features a delicious animal-free patty from Australian company Harvest Gourmet.

Singapore – named the one of the most vegan-friendly cities by PETA – is home to countless restaurants offering delicious vegan meals, from vegan chicken and waffles to meat-free pulled barbecue and dairy-free mac ’n’ cheese to a variety of veggie burgers and now a vegan burger at Jollibee Singapore, one of its popular fast-food chains.

“Jollibee Singapore’s delicious and affordable vegan burger, which can be enjoyed at locations across Singapore, will leave you feeling like a jolly bee because it’s entirely cruelty-free,” says PETA Senior Vice President Jason Baker. “PETA hopes Jollibee Singapore packs its menu with more great-tasting meat-free offerings. We’d love to see Jollibee restaurants in the Philippines, the Middle East, and the U.S. launch the Spicy Zero Beef Burger soon.”

Each person who goes vegan saves the lives of nearly 200 animals every year, significantly reduces their risk of suffering from health problems – including strokes, obesity, cancer, and heart disease – and combats speciesism, the archaic belief that other animals’ interests and feelings can be ignored and that it’s acceptable to exploit and consume them.

Jollibee Singapore states that the patty is cooked on the same grill as meat. PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” – is sending the company a framed certificate. For more information, please visit or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
