Statement: PETA Responds to the Government of Laos Decision to Send Elephants to Russia
PETA Senior Vice President Jason Baker has issued the following statement regarding the Government of Laos and its decision to send elephants to Russia.
PETA is disappointed to learn that the government of Laos plans to send two elephants to Russia—a move that stands in stark contrast to countries like Malaysia, which are choosing to keep animals in their natural habitats. True diplomacy shouldn’t promote exploitation, and we urge Laos to follow the growing global shift toward protecting wild animals, not exporting them.
