“Nestle Malaysia is making it easy and affordable to reach for eco-and-animal-friendly vegan meats that no one had to suffer and die for,” says PETA Senior Vice President Jason Baker. “PETA is delighted to give Nestle Malaysia a nod for showing compassion to animals and care for its human customers with its healthy and humane Harvest Gourmet vegan line.”

Cows have friends, hold grudges against other cows, and mourn when a loved one dies or when they’re separated from each other, while chickens form complex social structures, dream when they sleep, and worry about the future, just as humans do. In addition to slashing their carbon footprint, every person who goes vegan saves the lives of nearly 200 cows, chickens, and other animals each year and reduces their own risk of developing heart disease and cancer.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETAAsia.com or follow PETA Asia on XFacebook, or Instagram.
