“Try to Relate to Animals’ Fate. Go Vegan.” That’s the message that a PETA supporter wearing a chef’s hat and an apron senT to patrons of the Meat Festival 2024 World Selection Tokyo by barbecuing a lifelike baby and vegetables while other animal defenders urge festivalgoers to go vegan.
“Babies – whether a piglet, a lamb, or any other sentient being – don’t belong on a barbecue,” says PETA Senior Vice President Jason Baker. “PETA hopes anyone who is disturbed by the idea of chowing down on a child will think about extending their compassion to all other animals and choose vegan meals instead.”
PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” – opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETAAsia.com or follow the group on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook, or Threads.
