2023 Highlights: A Year of Monumental Progress for Animals

Posted on by Abigail Forsyth

In 2023, PETA achieved significant victories for animals through groundbreaking exposés, attention-grabbing campaigns, impactful hands-on fieldwork, and daring rescues. Thanks to the dedicated members and supporters who fueled our progress, shared our message on social media, and spoke out against cruelty, we raised awareness globally and made strides toward a kinder world. Because of our work this year, brands dropped cruelly obtained products, travel companies stopped promoting abusive exhibits, and more people made the compassionate choice to go vegan.

Please enjoy this highlight video and join us in reliving just some of the exciting victories and impactful moments that made 2023 another year of positive change for animals:

In 2023, PETA expanded our vital spay/neuter, emergency response, and adoption programs, providing lifesaving assistance to countless animals in need. In the Philippines, we sterilized over 4,000 animals in impoverished communities at no cost, sponsored veterinary care for guardians who couldn’t afford it, rescued numerous sick or injured animals, and placed many of them in loving permanent homes. Every one of their stories is a triumph, and none of these rescues would have been possible without your support.

We’re grateful for the unwavering commitment of the animal advocates who stood with us in 2023 to reject cruelty, challenge speciesism, and protect the right of every animal to live free from unnecessary suffering. Here’s to continued success in 2024 and a brighter future for all sentient beings. Thanks for everything you’re doing to create a kinder world. Together, we’re making an important difference.
