‘Zombies’ to Invade Kuala Lumpur for PETA Anti-Flesh Display

What:             On Wednesday, PETA supporters dressed as moaning zombies drenched in “blood” will descend on the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur with the message “Flesh Is Flesh. Go Vegan.” PETA’s invasion will remind tourists and locals that, like humans, other animals are made of flesh, blood, and bones, and that serving up someone’s body parts on a plate is ghoulish.

“Eating the corpse of a tormented, terrified victim is the stuff that horror films are made of,” says PETA Asia Consultant, Xiru Ong. “PETA urges everyone to take the easy step of going vegan instead, for animals’ sake and for their own health.”

Every year, billions of chickens, cows, and fish across Asia are killed for their flesh. In addition to this unnecessary daily suffering, eating meat and other animal-derived foods has been conclusively linked to an increased risk of heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity, and cancer.

Where:           Pedestrian walkway in front of the Petronas Twin Towers (at the zebra crossing between Jalan Ampang and Jalan P. Ramlee), Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala Lumpur. (See the Google Maps link here.)

When:             Wednesday, 29 March, 12 noon sharp

PETA Asia – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” – opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETAAsia.com or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
