Be Kind to Every Kind: Giant Animals Come to Chitwan, Courtesy of PETA
Chitwan— A massive rhinoceros, cow, dog, and other larger-than-life animals are towering over traffic in Bharatpur, Chitwan, appearing in PETA’s new, can’t-miss message near the Pulchowk Bus Stop. The appeal reminds everyone that every animal is a thinking, feeling individual deserving of compassion and respect.

“The world urgently needs more kindness—and that starts with seeing every animal as someone, not something,” says PETA President Jason Baker. “PETA encourages everyone to extend to animals the same understanding and respect we strive to show our fellow humans, and we’re here to help with everything from tips on how to go vegan to alternatives to dissection to vegan clothing guides.”
Just like humans, other animals feel pain and joy and value their lives, yet every year, billions are cut open on laboratory tables, prodded onto the kill floor in abattoirs, skinned for leather, or left to suffer in the streets when they are no longer wanted. One of the best ways to show solidarity with all animals is to go vegan. In addition to sparing animals’ lives, going vegan can dramatically shrink one’s food-related carbon footprint, and slash the risk of suffering from heart disease—one of the leading causes of death in Nepal—as well as cancer, strokes, and diabetes.
The billboard is located near the Pulchowk Bus Stop and will be up for the next two months (see Google Maps link here.)
PETA—whose motto reads, “Animals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone. For more information, please visit PETAAsia.com or follow PETA Asia on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
