‘Aliens’ to Feast on ‘Human Flesh’ in Pro-Vegan Display Outside Tokyo Meat Festival

“Just like humans, other animals feel pain and fear, and value their own lives, yet the Tokyo Meat Festival celebrates cruelly killing them and consuming their flesh,” says PETA Asia President Jason Baker. “Choosing compassion over cruelty shouldn’t be an alien concept, and PETA urges anyone horrified by the idea of eating human meat to extend that empathy to all earthlings and please, go vegan.”
PETA notes that each person who goes vegan spares nearly 200 animals every year and reduces their own risk of suffering from cancer, heart disease, and strokes. PETA’s “How to Go Vegan” guide can help anyone thinking of making the switch.
When: Friday, May 1, 1 p.m. sharp
Where: At the entrance of the Meat Festival 2026 Japan Premium 20, 1-chōme-1-16 Aomi, Koto-ku, Tokyo (See the Google Maps link here.)
Interviews will be available on-site and remotely. Photos of the protest will be available here after 4 p.m. on Friday.
PETA Asia—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—points out that when it comes to the ability to feel pain, hunger, and fear, a cow is a dog is a boy. For more information, please visit PETAAsia.com or follow PETA Asia on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
