From Brunch Spots to Burgers, Bali Businesses Win Big in PETA’s 2026 Vegan Awards
Bali – With Bali’s appetite for vegan cuisine booming, PETA is spotlighting the dazzling dishes and destinations—from cafés and chocolatiers to elevated dining experiences—shaping the island’s plant-powered future in its 2026 Vegan Awards.
Warmer temperatures are on the way, and both locals and tourists will delight in the 15 delectable dairy-free flavor options at Bodhi Leaf Eatery (Best Vegan Ice Cream). Standout spots for those with a sweet tooth include Sage (Best Vegan Cake) for its craveable Coconut Cake, Korté Chocolate (Best Vegan Chocolate) for blending premium ingredients with masterful craftsmanship, Plant Bistro (Best Vegan Pastries) for its balanced flavors and elegant textures, and Cinnamor (Best Vegan Cinnamon Rolls) for its soft and gooey creations, including pistachio and cookies & cream.
Other winners include I Am Vegan Babe (Best Vegan Comfort Food) for soul-warming dishes including its Peaceful Benedict and Mushroom Alfredo, Minang Vegan (Best Vegan Padang Food) for its traditional and authentic flavors, Sauce Tree (Best Vegan Burger) for its variety of indulgent burgers and toppings, and Cis Culinary (Best Vegan Indonesian Food) for its alluring, authentic flavors.
“Bali’s vibrant vegan scene offers both innovative flavors and authentic dishes that honor tradition without harming animals,” says PETA Asia President Jason Baker. “From craveable comfort foods to delicious delicacies, every winner on PETA’s list proves that the future of food is vegan.”
Rounding out the list of winners are Treenut Cheezery (Best Vegan Cheese), The Sloth Bali (Most Vegan-Friendly Accommodation), Sayuri Healing Food (Best Vegan Chef Course), Tiaga Coffee (Best Vegan Café), KooD (Best Vegan Grocer and Eatery), Siboghana Waroeng (Best Vegan Nasi Campur), Warung Pande Vegan (Best Affordable Vegan Meals), Kasto Italian Restaurant (Best Vegan Pizza), Alam Green Lotus (Best Vegan Laksa), Secret Spot (Best Vegan Brunch Spot), Moksa Ubud (Elevated Vegan Dining Award), Schauberger (Hidden Vegan Gem Award), Chickpea (Vegan Leadership Award), and Mai3 Nature Love, Circle Point Vegan Eatery, and Tasty Vegan all earn Certificates of Appreciation.
Cows and chickens feel fear, pain, and joy just as humans do, but in the meat industry, cows are shot in the head with captive-bolt guns before they’re hung up by one leg and have their throats slit. Chickens are forced into shackles, held upside down, and dragged through electrified water baths before they, too, have their throats slit, often while they’re still conscious. Every person who goes vegan saves the lives of nearly 200 animals each year and reduces their own risk of developing heart disease and cancer.
Each winner in PETA’s 2026 Vegan Awards will receive a certificate, along with bragging rights.
