Holly Valance: Fur Hag or Faux Fashionista?

Posted on by Ashley Fruno

Aussie model Holly Valance recently sported this (hideous) jacket at the launch party for a fashionable clothing store in London. As soon as we saw this potential fashion faux pas, we fired off a letter to Holly asking whether the jacket was real. We haven’t heard back yet, but as fans of Holly’s, we’re crossing our fingers for faux!

As our letter states, “[T]here is nothing fashionable or elegant about the lives and deaths of animals who are killed for their fur. Animals trapped in the wild often suffer for days before dying from blood loss, infection or attacks by predators. Some, especially mothers with babies to feed, will chew off their own limbs in a desperate attempt to escape. On fur farms, animals spend their entire lives pacing in cramped wire cages; they are killed by crude methods such as gassing, anal electrocution and neck-breaking. Sometimes these methods only stun the animals, who often ‘wake up’ while they’re being skinned.”

Show Holly that there is nothing fashionable about cruelty to animals by taking our Pledge to Be Fur-Free now! Hopefully, Holly will soon pledge to always fake it too.
