Horses Weren’t Meant for Jumping!

Posted on by Ashley Fruno

Horses are magnificent and strong animals. They stand up to 18 hands tall and can weigh more than 1,000 pounds. Yet in many countries, including Australia, these animals are forced to jump for people’s entertainment.

At a recent jumps race in Victoria, Australia, seven people were injured after a horse jumped into the crowd. This unfortunate and tragic accident was a result of this horse being forced to do what was completely unnatural to him. These races often result in the deaths of many horses who fall forward and break their ankles or necks and then must be euthanized. A horse died at the same carnival the Tuesday before the incident noted above.

It’s easy to help these animals and encourage people to fight for the rights of horses. Boycott the cruel horse-racing industry and encourage your friends and family to do so also! If you would like to be updated on this and other animal rights issues, please follow PETA Asia-Pacific on Facebook.
