A thank-you is in order to all of you that signed the Change.org petition to help send Mali the elephant to a sanctuary. Last week, a printed version of the online petition was delivered to the Philippine secretary of agriculture, Proceso J. Alcala, by PETA staff and an activist dressed in an elephant suit. The online petition received more than 60,000 signatures from around the world—a number that can’t be ignored—and the delivery was covered by multiple news outlets, making it a major victory.
