Spotlight: Something for Kate

Posted on by PETA

Aussie rockers Something for Kate now have something for KFC as well! Something for Kate may play sold-out shows around the world, but one thing is for sure: They don’t sell out to cruel corporations like KFC, whose suppliers cut off chicks’ sensitive beaks, breed and drug birds to grow so heavy that many become crippled under their own weight, and scald birds to death in defeathering tanks.

The stylish yet serious public service announcement that the band shot for PETA US highlights the fact that the birds raised and killed for KFC’s restaurants spend their entire lives as prisoners, suffering and afraid. More than 850 million chickens are raised and killed every year for KFC’s restaurants—far more than any other restaurant that serves chicken flesh. As the industry leader, KFC has a responsibility to protect the animals it uses from cruelty that would be illegal if it were inflicted on dogs or cats.

You can help! Boycott KFC, and spread the word about KFC’s cruel treatment of chickens!
