WATCH: If It Were the Other Way Around …

Posted on by PETA

How would you feel if cows treated humans the way that humans treat cows in the dairy industry? And what if tubes were shoved down humans’ throats to force-feed them so that animals could eat their enlarged, diseased livers?

The two great campaign videos below, created by MullenLowe Singapore, look at the dairy industry and foie gras production from a totally different perspective. The animals in the videos are all “Animals for the Ethical Treatment of People”! Find out more by visiting www.AETP.world.

The Dairy Industry

Most cows raised in the dairy industry are intensively confined, treated like milk-producing machines, genetically manipulated, and pumped full of antibiotics and hormones. They produce milk for the same reason that humans do: to nourish their young. In order to force them to lactate most of the time, they’re repeatedly forcibly impregnated, typically via artificial insemination.

The Foie Gras Industry

Foie gras production is so cruel that several countries have already banned it. If you ever see the foodstuff on a menu, urge restaurants to sell a vegetarian pâté instead. Remember that buying products made with down feathers can support the foie gras and duck-meat industries, too, because many producers who raise birds for food make an extra profit by selling their feathers as well. When you’re shopping, check the tag on every item that you pick up, and if it says “down,” put it back. Making the compassionate choice to be down-free ensures that you aren’t supporting the abusive down and foie gras industries.

What You Can Do

All animals who are used for food endure horrific suffering. Show your love for all living beings by not eating them. Take PETA’s vegan pledge and get tips on making the transition to a healthy and humane lifestyle.
