Video Editor and Graphic Designer

Position Objectives:

  • To create exciting, cutting-edge videos and print graphics, including print advertisements, for English-, Japanese-, Chinese-, or Vietnamese-speaking audiences with the use of video editing and graphic design software to help promote the goals of the organization
  • To improve existing videos aimed at promoting animal rights for the organization’s social media channels

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Create videos from concept to completion to share via Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram as well as the organization’s other social media channels, such as Miaopai and Tencent
  • Produce print graphics and advertisements to use in the organization’s online work
  • Use discretion in selecting appropriate video footage by digitally cutting files to put together for video sequences
  • Fine-tune the content of videos, as needed
  • Perform editing duties, such as suggesting or selecting music, correcting faulty footage, and adding special effects, as needed
  • Take responsibility for the quality control of videos
  • Abide by any legal guidelines regarding video production from start to completion
  • Stay current on social media trends and capabilities
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with video editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, EDIUS Pro, and Final Cut Pro
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • Simplified Chinese skills preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of all stages of video editing, including assembling recorded raw footage into a finished product
  • Strong creative and digital technology skills
  • Sophisticated understanding of and appreciation for the creative process
  • Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a professional manner
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
