Foodie Fridays: Salsa
Instead of grabbing a premade salsa dip at your local supermarket, why not try this quick and easy fresh salsa recipe instead? It’s more nutritious and takes only a few minutes to make.
1 12-oz.can tomatoes
½–¾ cup cilantro
1–3 fresh jalapeños
1 medium onion or 2 green onions
2–4 cloves fresh garlic
- Purée all the ingredients in a food processor.
Makes about 3½ cups
Variations: Add roasted or fresh red peppers, salt and black pepper, 1 Tbsp. olive oil, juice of ½ lime, 4 chopped fresh tomatoes, green olives, or 10-12 tomatillos cooked in boiling salt water until soft and then puréed.
