This Just In: Activists Arrested While Asking G20 to Go Vegetarian

Two of our best activists were recently detained in South Korea! Shortly after the activists arrived, dozens of police officers swarmed in and took these lovely ladies to the local police station. Their crime? Painting their bodies to look like our beautiful planet, complete with oceans and continents—all to urge world leaders at the G20 summit to get real about the environmental hazards of meat production.

PETA's Mother Earth Protest in Seoul

It’s true: You can’t be a meat-eating environmentalist. The meat industry’s ravaging effects on Mother Earth is so awful that the United Nations recently stated that a global shift toward a vegan diet is necessary to combat the worst effects of climate change.

Of course, concern about the Earth should also include concern about the animals who inhabit it. Every year, the average meat-eater takes the life of more than 100 animals—who were raised and killed in ways that are as unsustainable as they are cruel.

The choice is ours—at every meal. Help the Earth (and animals!) out by taking our Pledge to Go Veg right now!
