Scientists: A Vegetarian Diet Can Reduce Breast Cancer Risk

Posted on by Ashley Fruno

A new scientific study reinforces what we’ve been saying for some time now: Adopting a vegetarian diet can improve your health—and quite possibly save your life.

According to the new study, which was conducted by the American Journal of Epidemiology, women who consume a lot of vegetables may enjoy a significantly decreased risk of breast cancer. Plant-based foods are typically low in saturated fat and high in fiber and phytochemicals, which knock out carcinogens and fight inflammation.

Besides being good for you, following a vegetarian diet is also a super easy way to help prevent animals from suffering and dying so that they can be made into spare ribs, drumsticks, or nuggets (talk about gross).

If you have it in you to take responsibility for our own health, take our Pledge to Be Veg today!
